ASSIGNMENT CAPSULE
Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons under direction of a physician or nurse in Medical Centers.

Assist with daily patient flow in areas as needed.

Gives direct patient care and performs indirect patient care activities, under the direction of a physician or nurse.

Takes appropriate action to maintain a safe and aesthetic environment.

Performs EKG and maintain log.

Transports patient to other departments by means of wheelchair or stretcher.

Performs lab work as per physician orders and prepares instrumental equipment for sterilization.

Assists physician with examination as required and assists other staff members in providing patient care.

Communicates observations of patient's status to nurse-in-charge.

Complete all patient information on all forms given by physician and instruct patient accordingly.

Responsible for ordering medical supplies according to the department needs.

Organize follow-up care and instructions for patients with abnormal test results.

Remains in work area until the physician has seen all patients.

Able to rotate weekends, holidays, shifts and center location according to company needs.

Adheres to Nursing Department policies and procedures.

Participates in meetings of staff and department meetings.

Shares acquired knowledge and learning.

Checks equipment and supplies prior to use for function, inspection and expiration date. Reports malfunction of medical equipment and safety issues to supervisor.

Maintains quality control (i.e. Glucometer, eyewash, refrigerator temperature and autoclave) and cleaning logs as needed for the department.

Complies with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations (biomedical waste, handling and disposal) for the center as per regulations.

Pain Modality Department gives direct patient care to the patient requiring selected therapies and comfort measures in the therapy department under the direct/indirect direction and license of the designated physician (i.e. heat/cold application, whirlpool, paraffin, ultrasound and TENS therapies).

Obtain specimens in appropriate containers and labels correctly.

Takes and records vital signs, weigh patients and report results.

Follows medical center guidelines for isolation techniques.

Responds politely when addressed, assists in a helpful friendly manner.

Consistently reports for duty on time.
