Answer phones. Obtains pertinent patients demographic and insurance information for the scheduling of patients. Verifies insurance benefits and obtain authorizations for clinic visits, collect visit co-payments, prepare patient charts and all necessary paper work for patient visit. Maintains accurate clerical systems and records.
High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or equivalent training or experience required. . Multi task. Good interpersonal communication skills. Customer service experience preferred. Clerical tests required: type 15 wpm and pass filing data entry test. Excellent customer service skills and must have ability to work in a high volume, fast paced work environment. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Must be flexible and able to travel between Baptist Outpatient Facilities. Experience in a medical setting with knowledge of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations, and pre certification preferred. Bilingual English and Spanish.
