Job Purpose:
The Senior Tax accountant is responsible for US corporate income tax compliance, preparation of US income tax provisions and all reporting for Bupa Latam to Bupa Group in UK.  The Sr. Tax accountant supports the Sr Tax  manager and Finance department by providing tax technical support in response to internal inquiries, special projects, tax audits and and ensuring compliance with current income tax laws and regulations.  Prepares correspondence with tax authorities  and dialogue with independent tax consultants.
Accountabilities & Activities:

Prepares periodic income tax provision calculations and assists with review of calculations prepared locally. Prepares journal entries for tax accruals and reconciles tax balance accounts on a monthly basis.
Compiles information for and/or prepares all required corporate and state income tax  tax returns
Conducts tax research as directed by Sr. Tax Manager
Responsible for maintenance of tax filings calendar for US companies
Assists finance in the monthly closing process as it impacts the tax provision and accounts.
Assist Sr. Tax Manager with completion of tax forecasting, and tax workbooks required by Parent company.
Assist Sr. Tax Manager with the implementation and maintenance of the Bupa Latam tax operating model across all division locations.
Assist Sr. Tax Manager in addressing and responding to tax inquiries raised throughout the business unit.
Maintain information regarding tax services subscriptions, processing renewals and other administrative support to Sr. Tax Manager. 

Qualifications, Training & Experience:

Minimum 4 year college degree in accounting and minimum three years experience in private industry or public accounting in the tax function.
Public Accounting Certification (CPA) preferred not required.
Masters in Taxation degree highly desirable.
Excellent knowledge of broad based accounting processes and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of income tax accounting under FAS109 /FIN48
Working experience with corporate income tax return software applications.
Tax research experience including use of applications such as Checkpoint
Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth environment and embrace change.
Ability to work independently and within tight deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative while working effectively within a team.
Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.

Identifies US tax compliance or technical issues which need to be addressed and resolved. Maintains  abreast of developments in the US corporate taxation. Provide support for managing tax requirements outside the US.
